Our aim is for each of our lovely single sucker Red Poll cows produce one calf each year. From conception to consumption the process goes something like this: 9 months gestation, 6 months drinking milk, weaning, 24 months eating north Bedfordshire’s finest grass in the summer and hay or silage in the winter, slaughter at one of our local abattoirs (either Helletts in Kimbolton or Evans in Upper Shelton) and finally 1 month hanging. It’s a long wait but we think its worth it. Our beef is available to you in the form of a ‘beef box’. These work out at a very competitive £9 per kg and includes free delivery in north Bedfordshire, if you are based a little further a field we may have to charge you a little more or you are very welcome to come and collect when you are in the area. No two boxes are exactly the same so its difficult to publish a contents list, suffice to say we aim to give all our customers a fair share of the different cuts available.
