Wodehill wool.

Shetland sheep are famed for both the quality and colour of their wool. Within our small flock we currently have nine o f the fourteen different shades in which the breed are known to appear. This fantastic diversity of colour, unmatched by any other breed, led to the development of the multi-coloured knitwear which is so strongly associated with the Shetland Islands.

Unfortunately wool is no longer the valued commodity it once was, rather than let our fleeces go for the market value (around fifty pence each) we thought it would be much more fun to develop woolen items for sale. Over the years we save our fleeces in order to have a great enough quantity to commission a mill. We currently have a small range naturally coloured blankets, throws and scarves available for sale, we are also able to supply individual fleeces for hand spinning, felting, etc. If you are interested please do not hesitate to get in touch!
